Flock 0.5pre Developer Snapshot

The developer preview of the new browser, Flock has been released. Flock is built upon the open source Mozilla browser so the rendering engine is the same as Mozilla and Firefox known as Gecko. In the day and a half that it has been running here, there have been surprisingly few problems. That does not mean that it will not destroy your data, make the world spin backwards, cause wanton destruction, or eat babies. This is pre beta code. Consider yourself quite well warned.

The question then becomes ... what makes this browser any better than any other? The short answer is Web 2.0. The long answer is more complicated. By combining blogging, Flickr and del.icio.us into a single user experience, Flock makes the usual web browsing an interactive experience. Definately something the current generation of Internet users will take a shine to.

More to come ...
